1. The IT job market in 2026 · ১. ২০২৬ সালে আইটি চাকরির বাজার

The picture is mixed. On one side, Finland still has a shortage of ICT specialists: the EU reports that ICT specialists make up 7.8% of employment in Finland and that domestic ICT education does not produce enough people for industry demand. On the other side, the economy has been weak: unemployment among recent graduates has been rising, and about 10,300 people in the technology industry were temporarily laid off at the end of 2025.

What this means in practice: experienced specialists (cloud, cybersecurity, data and AI, networks) are in demand, but the first job is the hardest step. Your goal is to get relevant Finnish work experience as early as possible, even if it is short or unpaid training.

Many software and international companies work in English, especially in Helsinki, Espoo, Tampere and Oulu. But Finnish opens many more doors: IT support and service desk jobs, the public sector, municipalities, hospitals, schools and most smaller local companies. Even basic Finnish shows the employer that you plan to stay, and it makes the workplace community easier.

3. Practical training: the real door into IT · ৩. প্র্যাকটিক্যাল ট্রেনিং: আইটিতে ঢোকার আসল দরজা

In Finland, employers trust what they have seen. A few weeks inside a company lets them see your skills, your attitude and your Finnish, and many first jobs start exactly this way. There are several ways to get a placement:

• Work practice in a Finnish or integration course (työharjoittelu / työelämäjakso). Many courses include a work period; for example, one integration course in Helsinki has a six-week work practice. Ask early whether you can choose the workplace, and choose an IT company.

• Short and factual: 1–2 pages, newest first, with concrete results (what you did, which tools).

6. Where to find IT jobs · ৬. আইটি চাকরি কোথায় পাবেন

• Duunitori, LinkedIn Jobs, Oikotie Työpaikat and Työmarkkinatori: the main job sites.

Many IT jobs in Finland are never advertised, or are filled by someone the team already knows. Go to tech meetups (search Meetup.com for your city), events such as Slush in Helsinki, university and alumni events, and volunteer in IT communities. A short, friendly conversation is often worth more than ten applications.

• Be on time, calm and honest. Finns value modesty, so show your skills with concrete examples instead of big words.

9. Work permits and salary · ৯. কাজের অনুমতি ও বেতন

• Graduated in Finland? You can apply for a residence permit to look for work for up to two years after your degree. You need at least €800 per month to live on, and the permit lets you work without restrictions while you search.
