A2 In written and formal Finnish, “my”, “your”, “his” are shown with an ending on the noun: minun kirjani (my book), sinun nimesi (your name). In everyday speech people often say just mun kirja, but you need these endings to read letters, news and forms.
The endings ·
|---|---|---|---|

With minun and sinun the pronoun can be left out: Nimeni on Ali. (My name is Ali.)
The stem ·
The ending is added to the strong-grade stem, with no -n.

With other cases ·
The ending comes after the case ending. A final -n or -t of the case disappears. In the 3rd person, -Vn (a long vowel + n) is common instead of -nsa.
